Privacy at Quietly
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Quietly creates private rooms for two people. You can use the service without an account. Google sign-in is optional and is used only to restore your rooms on another device.
Information we store
Rooms contain messages, uploaded files, creation and activity dates, and random access credentials. If you sign in with Google, we also store your verified email address and Google account identifier. We never receive your Google password.
How account recovery works
Your room credentials are encrypted before they are stored with your account. Signing in with the same Google account lets Quietly restore those credentials on another device.
Retention
A room expires 30 days after its most recent message or file. Closing a room immediately prevents both participants from sending new messages. Service records may remain until the room reaches its retention limit.
Sharing and access
We do not sell personal information. Room content is available only to participants who hold a valid room credential. Infrastructure providers process data only to operate the service.
Your choices
You can use Quietly anonymously, sign out at any time, or close a room for both participants. Removing browser data deletes the rooms saved only on that device.
